The Union has agreed with the City of Rostock in Germany on cooperating together in terms of exchange of ECD experts, exchange of knowledge and materials, researching and conducting professional workshops on ECD. The specific details in the “Cooperation Contract” have been agreed upon and it is currently pending for signature.

Last week The Union organized a major ECD National Conference in Fayoum Governorate, more than 200 ECD and Education professionals participated in the event.

This week the Union is conducting in cooperation with more than 30 Egyptian NGOs a workshop on ECD Advocacy, Community Mobilization and concepts and methods to produce “Low Cost” toys and learning materials utilizing natural materials from the immediate environment.

The Union has been participating in the formation of the ECD National Standards.

The Union is currently on standardizing the used training materials through the development of an ECD modules and a comprehensive ECD training Package based on the ECD standards.

The Union has composed an Institutional Guide for Early Childhood Development in Egypt.

The National Union for Early Childhood Development in cooperation with Cairo University is organizing a national and regional ECD conference on 10th and 11th of April 2005
